As the Globetrotters build on our wonderful 90+ year storied history, we are seeking outstanding individuals to help elevate the brand to emotionally connect with the next generation of fans contemporizing it to the 2020s YouTube world. As the Director of Marketing, Branded Entertainment for the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, you will be empowered to inspire and connect with new audiences through branded entertainment experiences.

This full-time position within the Harlem Globetrotters International (HGI) Marketing Division is located at our Corporate Office in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and reports to the VP of Marketing & Sales.

Position Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Basketball culture loving strategic and creative thinker capable of leading the development and optimization of branded entertainment revenue driving verticals delivering the Harlem Globetrotters experience everywhere in every way
  • Oversee the establishment of YouTube as our digital hub for branded entertainment with applied knowledge of the front and backend of the YouTube universe
  • Assist in development and optimization of Harlem Globetrotters content arcs creating brand-building multi-media  and multi-channel assets that reach and connect new and existing audiences
  • A true marketer at heart – Help develop, manage and support the execution of integrated marketing communications efforts that encompass a 360 approach across all media (Earned, Owned, Paid, Shared) to emotionally connect with target audience
  • Get who we are and who we aren’t – Help optimize all facets of the branded entertainment experience fully reflecting Harlem Globetrotters brand promise providing for 24/7, 365 engagement opportunities with our target audience segments
  • Laser focused brand consistency- Lead the creation and production of creative for content use across branded entertainment business verticals including YouTube, live events, partnerships/sponsorships and licensing
  • Oversee social media team ensuring YouTube and all social channel content deliver brand-building, engaging content and works symbiotically with live events
  • Understand the roles of integrated marketing communications and ensure all channels are appropriately aligned and activated
  • Day-to-day management of agency relationships in a collaborative and responsive manner aligning on priorities and guiding projects ensuring project delivery according to plan and timelines
  • Identify potential agency, freelance and other resources to support brand and business priorities
  • Collaborate with social and brand engagement team on player publicity and brand activations, stunts and campaigns
  • Work closely with the live events team on new event experiences and tour campaign development
  • Develop and manage sales forecasts
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, vendor and agency contracts, P&L
  • Oversee and manage all secondary consumer research including key KPIs
  • When needed, oversee and manage primary consumer research
  • Help oversee and manage media plans
  • Help manage and optimize consumer facing website and app ensuring appropriate product and content is published working closely with marketing technology team
  • Work with licensing team to ensure all licensing programs are on brand and connect with target audience; assist in developing product launches and go-to-market implementation across appropriate marketing channels

• 8+ years of brand management  experience with Bachelor’ Degree, and MBA nice to have

• Experience in live event marketing, entertainment and/or sports marketing

• Have a genuine passion for marketing and the Harlem Globetrotters

• Excellent communication, cross-group collaboration, and planning skills

• Insatiable curiosity and a sense of humor

• Experience driving innovation / creating and launching new services and experiences

• Experience rolling out a re-brand/ brand strategies and tactics
