As the association continues to expand, CSI has an opportunity for an entrepreneurial Director of Marketing and Communications to join their team. The talented and driven leadership team is passionate about delivering value, impact to their customers, and seeks to extend brand recognition and influence in the communities they serve. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director will serve as a key member of the leadership team, significantly influencing the organization’s growth through the development and execution of CSI’s strategic marketing, branding, content, and communications activities. S/he is the central hub for all marketing and communication initiatives, collaborating across all functions of the organization to strengthen CSI’s brand and position. The Director owns the budget, strategy, tactics, and execution that identify and create demand for CSI products and services, influence revenue, and further the mission of CSI.

■ Develop and manage a comprehensive, strategic marketing, engagement, and communications plan and associated budget to support CSI’s mission, goals, and business objectives. This will include all facets of marketing and communications across multiple platforms.
■ Lead, coach, and develop a small internal staff. Oversee the selection and management of outside contractors.
■ Create and lead the strategy and execution for marketing, branding, content development, membership marketing, events, interactive and digital marketing, market research, and public relations activities.
■ Increase the visibility and value of the CSI brand resulting in revenue generation. Drive awareness of the organization and its mission to various customers and audiences including members, nonmembers, the industry, and the public. As the keeper of CSI’s brand, this role will create and uphold brand standards ensuring consistent design, functionality, and messaging across the association.
■ Prepare dashboards and descriptive reports on the department’s goals and performance in an ongoing and organic way to inform leadership decisions in real-time. Track ROI of campaigns and initiatives.
■ Create and manage multi-platform marketing campaigns and service standards that drive membership growth, retention and communicate CSI’s value proposition.
■ Produce a comprehensive and integrated content and media strategy. Manage content development and production of organization content publishing needs including all digital and print materials. Provide input on online presence and website strategy.
■ Oversee annual member needs assessment as well as other member and market research. Monitor trends and analyze data to increase member engagement, conference attendance, and retention.
■ Acquire and utilize the “voice of the customer” to develop highly relevant and value-added products, programs, and services that excite and engage constituent’s interest and deepens their loyalties.
■ Manage all public relations activities engaging members and the general public. Direct promotion, publicity, and innovative ways to engage and support corporate partners.
■ Demonstrable success in progressive roles as a strategic marketing and communications professional
■ Proven ability in developing, implementing, and measuring marketing plans
■ Deep knowledge in multi-platform marketing (print, digital, social media) and brand strategy execution
■ Strong analytical skills with a positive track record of using data to inform decisions and pivot quickly in reaction to trends
■ Excellent relationship building skills with internal and external customers
■ Strong collaboration skills with an ability to maintain personal accountability
■ Experience in the development and management of departmental or project budgets
■ Proven team leader with supervisory experience
■ Skilled in managing multiple projects with competing priorities

2. Begin to implement the approved marketing plan and measure results.
■ Develop clear KPIs to track the success and influence of marketing on the organization
■ Be able to identify trends and shift tactics and strategies in real-time in response to KPI outcomes
About the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI)
CSI’s mission is to advance building information management and education of project teams to improve facility performance. Founded in 1948, CSI is a national association of more than 7,000 experts in building construction and the materials used therein. It delivers value to its customers and the industry through a variety of programs including standards, certifications, and education.
