The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Director – Marketing, Communications, and Development.  In this position, you will execute a comprehensive communication and marketing strategy to both external and internal audiences and implement digital engagement campaigns to increase awareness of the Foundation’s brand, increase dissemination of Foundation research and resources through traditional and social media channels, and solicit financial support from corporate and individual donors.


Candidates must be organized and highly motivated with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Ideal candidates will have a sense of humor and a willingness to learn and innovate. Experience in creative digital marketing campaigns and brand management is essential.  Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are critical, including outstanding writing, proofreading, and customer service skills.  A college degree is required; 5 years in a marketing/communications or non-profit fundraising role is optimal; experience working with trade association or non-profit volunteers is a plus.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, graphics/video editing and social media applications is required. Familiarity with HTML and association management software, in particular ClearVantage, is preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the conceptualization, development, and production of all print, digital, email, web and social (media) marketing copy and collateral materials
  • Manage and edit content development, publication, and distribution of Foundation Forecast newsletter
  • Collaborate and contribute to bi-monthly “Foundation News” articles for EL&F magazine
  • Create and send email and newsletter messaging to promote research, events, publication releases, and fundraising efforts
  • Coordinate with outside PR firm to draft press releases and further promote research publications with media outlets
  • Develop and expand the Foundation’s social media engagement strategies
  • Work with the Executive Director to design collateral materials for fundraising and targeted education campaigns to include collaborating with external vendors such as graphic designers and printer as needed
  • Maintain fundraising records and contribution information in database
  • Serve as staff liaison to National Development Committee; work with committee chair to plan productive meetings; and organize volunteer outreach program
  • Manage donor recognition and benefits; assist Foundation contributors with questions.
  • Run and manage web analytics to measure effectiveness of all marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with other staff to create useful data reports for analyzing campaign successes
  • Manage and interpret data for resource downloads, website visits, and other touchpoints with donors, prospective donors, industry audience and academic community and adjust operating procedures based on meaningful trends
  • Create, write, and edit all marketing copy for tone, voice, brand, and accuracy
  • Film and edit Foundation Forecast videos
  • Edit and proofread research reports for tone, voice, and accuracy
  • Write and post marketing material to the Foundation website, and oversee the website for freshness of material and adherence to brand
  • Partner with Director of Programs for Foundation presence at ELFA annual convention including promotional materials, donor recognition, and exhibit booth.


Position Specifications:

Essential Use of Following Tools

  • Computer (Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Creative Cloud, and PowerPoint applications)
  • Content Management Software; WordPress highly desirable
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Familiarity with Tailored Mail, Survey Monkey, and ClearVantage AMS a plus


Essential Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and communications or fundraising


Essential Skills/Knowledge

  • Demonstrated strong writing and marketing knowledge; outstanding editing skills a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Successful track record in project management
  • Experience fundraising and writing marketing campaigns.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while maintaining high professional standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, and principles of Graphic Design desired
  • Knowledge or familiarity of HTML a plus
  • Focus on improving the client/customer experience
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong team member and team builder who is comfortable working both collaboratively and independently
  • Creative problem solver, strategic thinker who does not shy away from problems/obstacles as they arise
