Director of National Security Policy, Arsenal of Democracy Project @ PPI
The Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) is seeking a Director for its Arsenal of Democracy Project. The project’s mission is to develop and advocate for policies that ensure America’s ability to defend itself and backstop our liberal democratic allies against global forces of tyranny and disorder. The project will work with pragmatic progressives to modernize and assure the technological superiority of the U.S. military, while also identifying ways to cut Pentagon inefficiency and waste.
The Director will be responsible for policy research and development, authoring papers, op-eds and issue briefs, hosting events with key national security stakeholders and experts, and representing PPI’s views decision-makers on Capitol Hill and in the White House as well as overseas. Candidates should have five or more years of national defense and security experience and strong writing skills. This position is based in Washington, D.C. with occasional domestic and international travel. Veteran candidates and candidates of diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
