Position Summary

The Director of Corporate External Public Relations will be responsible for managing the company’s external public relations efforts, including developing and executing strategies to promote the Milo’s corporate brand to key stakeholders, media outlets, and the public at large.

Ownership

  • Develop and implement an integrated public relations strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives and supports its mission and values.
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets and key influencers to increase awareness and coverage of the Milo’s corporate brand.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create engaging content, including press releases, social media posts, and other marketing collateral, to effectively communicate key messages to external audiences.
  • Proactively pitch stories and respond to media inquiries.
  • Monitor and manage applications for industry awards and recognition.
  • Develop and execute employment branding campaigns to support talent recruitment.
  • Manage crisis communications, including developing and implementing a crisis communication plan, training company spokespeople, and monitoring and responding to online conversations.
  • Manage outside agencies, contractors, and other resources.
  • Develop and manage corporate public relations budgets, including tracking expenditures and ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of public relations programs and initiatives, providing regular reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in agency public relations or corporate communications, with a focus on external communications and experience with Consumer Packaged Goods companies.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing public relations campaigns that drive business results.
  • Proven experience working with media outlets and influencers, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and experience using them to engage with audiences and promote brand messaging.
  • Understanding of crisis communications best practices.
