GLISI seeks a Director of Organizational Impact to help assess our progress in achieving impact at scale, while
simultaneously shaping the field’s understanding of leadership practices that build more excellent and
equitable schools. While we’ve created a framework to define and measure the impact of our work, the next
step is developing a more sophisticated approach to how we identify patterns of impact over time, within and
across services. This newly created position will play a crucial role in designing systems to distill, aggregate,
and make meaning of all forms of data that emerge from observations and data collection. The ideal candidate
demonstrates a keen understanding of human-centered design and is excited to develop new ways of
collecting data that illuminate leadership challenges our work may help address.

● Design and gather insight from stakeholders to offer evidence of impact using a variety of sources
including surveys, focus groups, observations, and crowdsourcing
● Routinely review data and feedback from clients to generate a narrative of impact from individual to
team to culture to system level
● Review artifacts produced by participants – capstones, assessments, team artifacts – to gather themes
of impact
● Use nuanced understanding of different stakeholder needs to develop responsive inquiry/themes
meaningful to each audience
● Prepare reports and presentations to convey themes, findings, and methods to various stakeholder
groups
● Collaborate with executive team to support development of impact reports for funders and other
presentations
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Author or co-author research reports, analytic memos, policy briefs, or fact sheets informed by GLISI’s
work
● Generate insights from data to help identify implications for GLISI services, summarizing and
disseminating findings in ways that are understandable and actionable for staff
● Collaborate with executive team to periodically revise GLISI’s Impact Framework
● Oversee cross-functional communication and collaboration around data collection to ensure
standardization across the organization
● Systematically gather, store, and make meaning of all data related to GLISI’s Impact Framework
● Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage
improvements
● Master’s degree required, Ph.D. preferred, in evaluation, educational psychology, data science, or
related field
● A minimum of 5 years’ experience with data management and analysis
● Robust quantitative and qualitative analysis capabilities, including experience working with large data
sets to derive insights
● Experience leading, designing, and conducting inquiry, including defining questions and determining
appropriate methods to answer questions
● Adept at aggregating compelling themes across multiple data sources in writing and visual
presentation
● Committed to fostering a workplace culture of belonging, where diversity is celebrated and equity is a

● Excellent project planning skills, with the ability to self-direct, anticipate roadblocks, meet deadlines,
and prioritize among competing goals, while maintaining attention to detail and budget
● Demonstrated ability to be strategic and flexible as new challenges arise
● High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace
● Proficiency in statistical analysis platforms (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, STATA), data visualization and dashboard
creation tools (e.g., Tableau), and online survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
● Ability to work individually and collaboratively with GLISI staff and vendors in a distributed work
environment
● Professional maturity when interfacing with external audiences
● Propensity toward bringing fresh ideas and workshopping them with others
● Strong presentation skills
