Responsible for execution of organization’s lobbying activities relative to General Assembly administration and state agencies. Serves as member of organization’s lobbying team that lobbies state legislature, Congress and administrative branches. Responsible for monitoring activities of government agencies relating to agriculture and rural communities. Serve as liaison to certain state and federal agencies, Arkansas General Assembly, and Governor’s office. Direct organization’s County Advocacy and Political Education program. Assist with organization’s Policy Development program. Coordinate organization’s activities in grass-roots issue campaigns.

Bachelor’s degree. Strong agricultural background is preferred. Five (5) years of experience in agricultural and/or regulatory or legislative occupation. Must possess a good working knowledge of legislative rules and regulatory process.

Must have or possess ability to build strong working relationships with legislators, staffs and agency personnel.

Work closely with county Farm Bureau leaders. Interpersonal skills to work and relate with a variety of individuals.

Proficient PC skills to include the use of various software packages.

Proficient oral and written communication skills.

Flexible work schedule to include extended and various hours and overnight travel (in and out of state).

Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
