~ Amplify and enhance Hyundai’s Public Relations and Communications efforts across the region. Work closely with Global PR to create more opportunities to enhance corporate, product and executive communications in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Work with HMMA and DC Office to promote Hyundai’s brand, thought leadership and performance/economic impact. Liaise with Hyundai affiliates Mobis, Globis, HATCI and Hyundai Capital to ensure message alignment across the North American enterprise.
~ Public Relations Duties
~ Coordinate communications between HMNA, HMMA, HAC, HMM, DC Office, Hyundai Capital, Mobis, Glovis & HATCI; Hyundai Partners (UAM, Motional) & Genesis.
~ Responsible for Executive Communications, Product and Corporate PR.
~ Manage crisis communications (recalls).
~ Establish a uniform process to effectively manage all media queries across the enterprise.
~ Work with HATCI and Hyundai Product Planning to execute media engagements (briefings, interviews, RTQs)
~ Develop the PR budget and work with Finance to ensure consistent funding for PR priorities
~ Develop PR assets relevant and accessible for various PR events and/or media events (HQ studio)
~ External Stakeholder Engagement
~ Develop messages and coordinate all communications with the Dealer body.
~ Amplify dealers’ local initiatives and efforts.
~ Present at governance or senior leadership meeting when applicable.
~ Work with the DC Office, CSR and field to publicize and promote thought leadership initiatives; support Alliance organizations to promote and achieve public policy objectives.
~ Work with Product Planning and Marketing Departments to advance brand objectives across multiple platforms and events.
~ Responsible for management of division staff.
~ Responsible for CR/PR/expense reports/travel requests per company policy.
~ Must have a high school diploma
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus
~ Ten plus years of experience leading a large, complex, high-functioning team. Developing and leading a team to rapidly develop, coordinate and disseminate information across multiple time zones and audiences accurately. Leading disbursed team to achieve common results. Rigorous adherence to details and experience providing senior or C-suite executives public relations/media advice and counsel.
~ Understanding of issues in the automotive industry and an understanding of the industry, social and political ramifications issues.
~ Knowledgeable about the function and overall engineering of automotive vehicles and can knowledgeably discuss same.
~ Capable and experienced in providing communications counsel to senior management.
~ Experience in the working with print, broadcast and digital media reporters and editors and has proven track record of placing stories with same.
~ Familiar with competitors’ products.
~ Proven experience in the planning and implementation of press events including product introductions.
~ Ability to develop and present Executive level presentations; superior written and public speaking skills; solid analytical reasoning and project management; supervisory skills.
~ Highly motivated to succeed in challenging and high stress environment.
~ Resilient and flexible.
~ Able to work easily and comfortably in a multi-cultural environment with individuals from different countries.
~ Excellent relationships with consumer and automotive media.
~ Excellent written and oral skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.

~ Has both attention to details and ability to see “the big picture”.
~ Deep understanding of the U.S. media and how it functions.

~ Ability to remain calm and effective in high stress environments.
~ Ability to act as spokesperson for the company.
~ Normal office duties.
~ Travel is a must.
