Director, SRA Governance & Communications

Reporting to the Vice President of Global Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA), this position provides stewardship on product innovation and scientific communications for The Coca-Cola Company’s ingredients and products and leads the SRA’s efforts to ensure accessibility of research, science and regulatory information. In addition, it provides and enables organizational planning, leadership and coordination of business planning, strategic project management, financial performance management, resource allocation, and implementation support for key organizational initiatives.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities (time allocation)

  • Product Stewardship (25%)
    • Design and execution of the Global SRA governance model
    • Due diligence on regulatory compliance of strategic innovation projects
    • Thought leadership in projects and programs improving the efficiency and productivity in SRA compliance processes
    • Stewardship for the Company’s Claims and Communications approval process
  • Scientific Information (20%)
    • Leadership in programs ensuring provision, insights and accessibility of key scientific research information to the Global SRA community
    • Leadership in programs ensuring provision, insights and accessibility of key social media and market insights information to the Global SRA community, relevant to the safety, nutrition and perception of the Company’s ingredients and products
  • Knowledge Sharing and Capability building (20%)
    • Leading the development and implementation of tools and systems, aiming at ensuring effective and efficient knowledge sharing in the Global SRA community
    • Leading efforts to increase the digitization of the Global SRA processes, tools and systems
    • Leading the SRA capability building programs through a portfolio of training, sharing and orientation platforms
  • Strategic planning (25%)
    • Responsible for the Global SRA annual and 3-year business plan
    • Due diligence and monitoring of the Global SRA budget and spending
    • Design and execution of strategic projects
  • People Management (10%)
    • Leading a team of  nutrition and food science professionals
    • Leading cross-functional global projects with outreach to 100+ Coca-Cola associates and leaders across the world

 

Education Requirements:

  • Required Master’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related disciplines; PhD strongly preferred.

Related Work Experience:

More than 10 years of work experience in food or beverage industry and more specifically in:

  • Management of Scientific and Regulatory Issues and regulatory compliance processes
  • Experience in roles of Science, Research & Development and/or Regulatory
  • Project Management experience in the areas of Science, Quality Assurance, R&D and/or Regulatory
  • Diverse Experience in field SRA compliance and innovation will be a key desired qualification
