The EU Public Policy Subject Expert team provides cross-cutting policy advice on key policy topics. – Monitor public policy trends and debates which impact current and future TikTok’s eCommerce business strategies in EMEA, particularly in the fields of ESG and trade. – Work closely with our product development teams on new features and products to ensure they anticipate and reflect policy makers’ priorities and meet stakeholders’ expectations. – Recommend policy positions and external actions on a diverse array of issues, in particular sustainability and trade. – Identify strategic targets and build relationships with key stakeholders and allies to advance TikTok’s eCommerce policy goals. – Represent TikTok at meetings, events, conferences and expert panels. – Support executive engagement with governments and International Institutions, including drafting remarks, preparing briefing materials, and providing follow-up support. – Connecting activists with academia and non-profits to raise awareness about TikTok’s ESG efforts. – Support E-commerce ESG compliance, including relevant disclosures, ESG claims, and supporting internal governance structures.
Qualifications
– 2-4 years of relevant work experience in government and/or public policy (e.g. International Institutions, in-house, consultancy firm etc.) – Strong awareness and understanding of ESG policy debates at European and global level. – Fluent in English, any additional language is a plus. – Superb written and oral communication skills, including the ability to distill complex policy issues into simple explanations and compelling messages. – Strategic thinker, strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills. – Strong intellectual interest in trade and geopolitics around tech, including sustainability, trade and supply chain issues. – Sound understanding of International and European Institutions, as well as the political and legal environment that surrounds them. – Ability to work independently, and to manage projects from conception to completion, often without additional support. – An authentic interest in building strong relationships with your teammates and key external stakeholders, as well as a willingness to jump into tasks with a positive and can-do attitude.
