The Executive Communications Specialist’s primary responsibility is to support employee communication initiatives that help accomplish communications objectives. This position supports corporate goals and strategies and helps execute specific strategies and tactics to ensure all messaging is appropriate and consistent. The Executive Business Communications Specialist works to develop our employee brand and ensure messages are consistent with the overall brand identity, meet company standards, and promote the positive image on behalf of the organization.



  • Receives strategic guidance to help drive the editorial process for all employee-facing communications.
  • Responsible for drafting, creating and proofing related content.
  • Assists with strategic communications to human resources, advising on strategic communications planning and execution. Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with HR (and other departments) to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, organizational changes, policy changes, and current events around the company.
  • Ensures consistent and coordinated execution of employee communication plans and initiatives.
  • Provides suggestions to executive comms support staff on effective employee communications – both written and verbal to help them more effectively deliver compelling messages through communications vehicles – based on communications data.
  • Has a strong perspective on organizational culture. and can recommend initiatives for influencing and managing change.
  • Enhances employee productivity and responsibility by ensuring they have the information and perspective they need to do their jobs.
  • Supports all internal email campaigns and execution. This includes understanding Zebra’s internal email management system, Eloqua, and serving as point of contact for the global email calendar, directing when messages can be sent.
  • Serves as a “design champion” for all internal creative needs. This includes becoming a brand ambassador for the Business Communications team, ensuring brand compliance. Also includes serving as a creative consultant for internal design requests, including the actual development of creative ranging from images to video editing.
  • Supports content development for the intranet. This includes sharing stories of employees living the brand, engaging employees, shaping the market narrative, advancing our corporate focus on ‘customer needs’ at the center.
  • Assists Communications Operations team on intranet maintenance and governance.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in communications, public relations or marketing required
  • 2+ years of experience, preferably with internal /employee communications experience

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent corporate storyteller who has the desire and ability to understand business and develop internal strategies that bring it alive and help each employee understand how they fit.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and detail. Organized and personable with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with different stakeholders and teams in a global organization while balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented, with a discipline of measurement around Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Solid project management skills are a must, including the ability to manage multiple projects and a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience working in video production and creative development is preferred, including experience with Photoshop and basic video editing tools
  • Experience with Eloqua is a plus
  • Able to work a hybrid schedule in Lincolnshire, IL facility

Salary: USD 62500.00 – USD 93800.00 Yearly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
