AT&T has an exciting opportunity available in their External Affairs organization for an External Affairs Manager (entry-level) in Tallahassee, Florida!

The External Affairs Manager will be the leader in managing all operational roles and responsibilities.  The manager will prepare all the necessary operational, financial, community presentation, and legislative tracking documentation and processes required by State External Affairs Leadership.   Will also be responsible for:

  • Understanding, preparing, maintaining, and filing state and local compliance registrations, periodic activity reports, and internal company compliance policies for the team, accurately and timely
  • Providing management and oversight over organizational budget and community sponsorships to include analyzing, managing and forecasting state budgets within plan
  • Coordinating hosting opportunities, event tickets, and fleet vehicles
  • Tracking legislation and local ordinances affecting the company and entering the newly passed laws into the External & Legislative Affairs’ Compliance Portal to ensure AT&T’s compliance, when support is needed
  • Organizing, supporting and attending community engagement activities, such as AT&T Believe or AT&T Foundation programs, to build relations with community leaders on behalf of AT&T
  • Organizing and preparing materials for public policy informational meetings and forums and assisting with public speaking events
  • Supporting efficiency initiatives including deploying corporate-approved technology
  • Assisting with travel and scheduling arrangements for events and stakeholder sessions
  • Processing for approval:
  • Contributions, Sponsorship, Memberships (CSM)
  • Corporate Political Contributions (CPC)
  • Consultant Contract and Payments
  • Foundation Grants
  • Political Action Committee requests

  • A successful candidate must have:
  • Strong verbal, written, and collaboration skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professional and client-focused demeanor
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills
  • Experience working issues of diverse scope which requires identifying driving factors
  • Advanced project and process management skills and experience
  • Proficient skills in Excel, PowerPoint and comfortable with learning new technology (e.g. Power BI)
  • Progressive experience analyzing data to support and influence business decisions
  • Ability to influence leaders being supported
  • Passion for political science, community and social impact, and/or economics
  • Life-long-learner, ability to eagerly take on learning new tools, processes and systems
  • Ability to successfully identify and create new solutions to process issues
  • Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Business, or Finance
Or equivalent combination of education and required experience
