Your Role and Responsibilities

This newly created role requires an experienced and highly motivated professional with experience and maturity leading government affairs and policy matters within commercial environments. Your responsibilities include:

  • Track global Government Affairs and Policy projects in support of global business objectives and support execution and implementation of those initiatives.
  • Assist in developing engagement strategies and requisite written materials supporting those strategies.
  • Provide insight into the competitive landscape, actively anticipating how stakeholders will position themselves and articulate alternative pathways and scenario planning.

WORK LOCATION:
Washington, D.C. preferred, but open to other locations for candidates with prior experience working in the DC, Maryland or Virginia (DMV) area.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate has experience in public policy and government affairs, in the technology industry, and in serving in a staffing capacity. They will have:

  • Government affairs experience: International experience with government IT policies and understanding around issues important to Kyndryl’s business including, but not limited to cybersecurity, privacy and data protection.
  • Technology industry experience: Experience working in or with technology-driven companies. Demonstrated ability to understand IT policies, underlying government-oriented strategy and advocacy.
  • Relationships: Proven track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drives for results: Coordinates execution by setting appropriate pace. Evokes ownership and accountability, streamlines process/structure, and reallocates resources quickly and flexibly.
  • Integrity and personality: Clear reputation for ethical conduct and unquestionable integrity. Brings creativity and intellectual curiosity in dealing with complex legal and public policy issues.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in public policy and global policies tracking
  • Knowledgeable in global tech policy trends and tech companies
  • Project management/organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at once
  • Ability to quickly learn and master a subject
  • Ability to work well with a variety of teams and organizational levels

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Strong understanding of public policy, technology, reputation
