Global Commercial Lead Rheumatology

The Global Commercial Lead will lead global commercial strategy and market development for a key product within the franchise. You will be accountable for global commercial strategy for launch indication(s), geographic expansion strategies and plans and the development of commercial business case(s). You will be responsible for developing/aligning the global plans for the early detection, diagnosis and optimal treatment of patients and will serve as the commercial lead on the core asset team, providing guidance and direction for commercial development, positioning and branding for the product across the globe. You will participate on multi-functional and multi-regional Product Management, Sales, Operations, and Global Marketing teams to achieve the short and long-term commercial objectives of the program.
This is a remote position based in the US with up to 40% travel. Candidates located on the East coast preferred. #LI-remote

  • Provide strategic commercial leadership for pipeline product candidate in late-stage development as well as life cycle management plans
  • Lead all commercial development exercises to support life cycle projects associated with asset from discovery to the marketplace
  • Lead the Global Brand and ensure alignment in setting commercial strategies, goals, priorities and long-term plans and schedules
  • Plan toward milestones, define clear go/no go decision points, create scenario plans, manage critical path activities, proactively identify issues, resolve conflicts, and communicate project-related issues to senior management
  • Implement product and market shaping plans pre and post launch
  • Lead Global Commercial Team cross-functional meetings and communicate recommendations to leadership
  • Optimize target product profiles (TPPs) and target product claims (TPCs) for new indications, based on thorough understanding of the science, market dynamics, and future trends
  • Develop and communicate understanding of treatment protocols, level of unmet needs, patient segments, and competitive pipeline to identify targeted product concepts and product profiles
  • Direct strategic commercial projects to advise clinical development and commercialization plans
  • Be accountable for commercial forecasts / business case development and manage team developing commercial insights and analytical support for commercial assessments
  • Liaise extensively with internal and external specialists to gain insights and find opportunities for early-stage programs, pathways, and treatment approaches
  • Translate insights from scientific leaders into meaningful product or disease area strategies
  • Partner with leaders from Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Program Development, Statistics, Regulatory, Legal and Commercial Leadership to develop product development and lifecycle management strategy that optimize value, time, resources, risk, and alignment with business objectives

  • 15+ years of progressive related industry experience; 13+ years of pharmaceutical biotech marketing / strategy experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience in U.S. and Global Pharma marketing, including launch experience; project management skills required
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with research and development team members and act as commercial point person in pre launch and launch situations, with in depth knowledge of global marketing, early and late stage drug development, and biologic drug development
  • Ability to partner effectively with regional leadership/teams
  • Ability to collaborate, manage vendors and budgets
  • Prior launch experience required
  • Forward thinker, strong leadership skills, results oriented, organized self-starter able to manage multiple priorities
  • Outstanding track record of strong communication, presentation, analytic and strategic capabilities
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time (including weekend travel, as needed)
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • MBA preferred
    • Excellent people and communication skills, ability to operate in a cross-cultural and complex matrix environment, and ability to build sustainable social relationships within the organization and with customers
    • Previous work in Immunology, rheumatology, specialty care
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with an alliance partner is preferred
    • Prior experience with infused and self-injectable biologics strongly preferred
