Human Resources (HR) Communications is part of the Global Enterprise Communications team and creates and drives communications for Nike’s HR strategies around the world.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for a Global Director of HR Communications who will support the critical communications vision for the HR organization using the power of storytelling to engage employees in unique, authentic and compelling ways.

This role is a crucial part of the HR Communications team, and we will help drive key strategic and programmatic communications deliverables for HR across the enterprise. That includes engaging with our employees on HR strategies and programs in Total Rewards & Operations, Talent, Diversity & Culture, HR for HR, and HR Services by developing and executing strategies that generate understanding of key priorities and initiatives across the function, using a variety of channels.

The person in this role should have strong experience in communications and strategy, excellent writing skills, experience in building and leading a team, managing complex information, and message and strategy development. Experience in HR communications or content is a plus. This role requires a strong communicator and collaborator, with experience working with a variety of partners.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

As a key member of the HR Communications team we will be responsible for developing highly innovative and targeted communications strategies, messages and tactics that will help HR connect with all NIKE, Inc. employees. You will work closely with internal partners to uncover and drive key storylines, and bring new insights and ways of communicating to advance the dialogue between Nike and its employee base.

You will support the creation of a strong narrative for HR and lead strategic storytelling for employees and externally, including driving select media interviews and externally speaking engagements when appropriate. You will manage both communications strategy and execution for Nike’s employment brand internally and externally across multiple channels.

We will manage issues as needed across the HR portfolio and will continue to build, lead, drive and inspire our HR communications team. The work will also include overall communications support for the team including event support, writing team emails, newsletter and social posts, Q&As and presentations.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:

Beyond our HR teammates and the other members of the HR Communications team, you will work with peers across Global Communications, notably in Global Enterprise Communications, Narrative Communications, and Purpose Communications. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders including the HR Leadership Team.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related field.
  • 8+ years professional experience in high-profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting global organizations, extensive experience in employee/internal and corporate communications preferred with a strong focus on HR communications
  • Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures.
  • Experience in developing proactive, compelling and creative communications strategies.
  • Passion for creative storytelling.
  • Experience communicating to and working with senior executives to provide strategic counsel, clearly articulate ideas, successfully manage differing points of view and strengthen relationships and rapport.
  • Strong writing and presenting skills.
  • Experience leading communications strategy for major events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationships including website management and content creation.
  • Deep understanding of both evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape
