Overview of the Position Responsibilities: The Bluepeak Government Affairs Associate will be responsible for matters relating to our expansion markets including franchise agreements, coordinating with legal entities, engineering, and permitting. This position will assist with outreach to federal and state policymakers, including legislators, executive agencies and staff. A candidate for this position must be a self-starter with the ability to articulate key messages, engage with communities and grow each market. If this sounds exciting, please read on.


What You Will Do:

  • Represent company for market events and provide messaging to the community.
  • Attend City Council meetings and coordinate Chamber of Commerce memberships.
  • Identify commercial leaders within the market and outline a plan to aggressively grow each market.
  • Identify key policy opportunities and trends; develop strategies to advocate for and promote the company’s positioning.
  • Create and operate impactful public-private sector partnerships and programs.
  • Act as an ambassador of the Bluepeak brand; Facilitate an open dialogue with a wide variety of stakeholders by engaging and sharing the Bluepeak vision.
  • Articulate key messaging to communities when crews will be increasing or decreasing.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement in existing and new communities.
  • Understand and interpret existing and/or new municipal and township ordinances and their implications on company operations.
  • Assist in responding to inquiries from local government officials, residents, and other stakeholders on Bluepeak’s operations and provide timely, accurate and complete information.
  • All other related duties as assigned.


What You Will Need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs, Political Science or Communications or a related field required.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in Telecommunications, Cable, Marketing or related field required.
  • Upon job offer, must be able to pass a background check and drug test prior to starting employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets our insurance company standards is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about issue policy and politics and translate strategy into action.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with both internal and external partners.
  • Ability to stay focused under pressure, while delivering clear communication of the company’s objectives.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • MS Office Suite: Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Access, and OneNote.
