DAK Americas is a globally competitive supplier of Terephthalic acid (TPA) – Monomers, Polyethylene Terephthalate Resins (PET & Recycled PET ) and Polyester Staple Fibers (PSF) for the western hemisphere. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, NC with manufacturing facilities in the Carolinas, Mississippi, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
In order to generate the greatest contribution to PET Promotion & Governmental Affairs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following items:
Developing Strong Business Acumen
Gain foundational knowledge and understanding of our products, markets, technologies as well as our domestic and international locations.
Understand the unique and sustainable benefits of our products, markets, technologies and maximize the promotion or such across legislative bodies to foster positive PET positioning.
Building & Maintaining Key Internal Partnerships
Establish and maintain relationships with individuals across various levels of our organization.
Supports PET Promotion & Public Affairs Director in relationship and message building and collaboration at targeted audiences
Government Affairs Consultant
Collaborate with necessary parties(Lobbyist & Consultants) to coordinate governmental affairs and trade relations activities to foster the successful positive positioning of PET in federal, state & local legislations.
Ensures all communications and marketing materials align with to corporate guidelines and legal requirements.
Supports the implementation of communications initiatives through the creation of creative content (both digital and print).
Ownership of Governmental Legislation & Policy Communications Material & Initiatives
Act as a point of contact for government and policy communications requests.
Collaboration to support legislation & policy initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with other duties & assignments within Public Affairs as needed.
Identify and pursue communications initiatives that support company culture build brand recognition and awareness.
Bachelor level degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing.
5+ years of experience in marketing communications, advertising, corporate communications, public relations, media relations, brand marketing, or related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external stake holders.
Previous press release, editing and proofreading experience.
Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
Successfully work in a fast paced environment and able to deal with ambiguity and change.
Ability to effectively work within a team environment and as an individual contributor and leader.
Intermediate to Advanced skill with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proficient in Spanish (verbal and written communication). French and Portuguese also beneficial.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
