Government Affairs Manager


The Government Affairs Manager will serve as the client lead and support for Florida government advocacy clientele. This leader will manage current client relationships, identify new client & revenue opportunities, and contribute to the overall growth of the firm within the legislative, executive, and regulatory agencies. The Government Affairs Manager works in tandem with the Strategos Partners to design, develop, and execute Florida government advocacy strategy and proposals.

The Government Affairs Manager will be successful in building relationships within legislative, executive, and agency offices to influence Florida government leaders, coordinate introductions, manage client meetings, and identify client revenue opportunities. The Government Affairs Manager shall consult clients on best practices, strategies, policy, and political circumstances to navigate client success. This position is located in Tallahassee, Florida.


  • Advance client interests before the Florida legislative and executive branches, as well as regulatory agencies
  • Advocate for clients’ critical and relevant interests by mobilizing legislative efforts and acquiring appropriations for clients to support a specified purpose or project
  • Coordinate the legislative efforts across practice areas to ensure client success
  • Support political donation strategies for clients to advance legislative advocacy
  • Support the partners of the firm with maintaining client relationships and building relationships with existing clients
  • Utilize existing firm infrastructure to identify and develop new clientele
  • Furnish proposals and insights on business development and growth opportunities for companies, advocacy organizations, associations, and professional groups, creating sustainable, long-term value
  • Plan and execute marketing strategies for Strategos Group & clients, increasing market share to establish the brand and increase awareness


  • Legislative experience
  • Ability to advise clientele on market trends & political strategies
  • Knowledge of CRM tools, such as HubSpot
  • Impeccable work ethic, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • High level of integrity and the ability to quickly earn and maintain trust in the marketplace
  • Highly motivated and passionate
  • Ability to influence high level decision makers
  • Excellent phone skills with the ability successfully cold call into prospective clients
  • The work requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with organizational, interpersonal, technical, and leadership skills


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Requires two or more year(s) related policy and political experience in Florida


  • The work is fast-paced and in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to handle stress related to handling multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or Table
  • The employee occasionally lifts light objects, such as contract files, laptop
  • Travel required up to 10% of time (Due to COVID-19 no travel will be executed at this time)
