SourceAmerica is looking for a talented Government Affairs Specialist to join its Vienna, VA-based team. Only candidates based in the greater Washington DC area will be considered.

This position provides direct administrative support to the Government Affairs Business Unit. It is responsible for crucial information sharing, document creation, scheduling and managing tasks within Government Affairs and across multiple functional departments and internal business units within SourceAmerica, with a specific focus on activities related to planning SourceAmerica’s national Grassroots Conference. This position acts as a gatekeeper and operations manager for department ensuring deadlines are met, deliverables are produced, and all other critical functions which keep the department running at its top efficiency. This position may have to travel into Washington DC to support various grassroots and government affairs activities on behalf of the organization.

Coordinates and maintains official documents and records in appropriate files.
Completes special projects by organizing and coordinating information and requirements; planning, arranging, and meeting schedules; monitoring results.
Ensures completion of all deliverables to internal SourceAmerica business-units such as presentation collateral, reporting documents, and all other information inquiries including but not limited to the national Grassroots Conference.
Answers and represents Government Affairs team with internal and external communications.
Schedules appointments for Government Affairs team.
Provides administrative support to the Government Affairs team through preparation of travel itineraries and subsequent travel expense forms.
Performs key reporting and research duties as prescribed.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum associates degree in relevant field or equivalent relevant experience and expertise
Experience in executive scheduling, executive assistance, or office administration
SourceAmerica recognizes 1½ years’ experience = 1-year college, should a candidate not meet the required education
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Experience in government affairs and grassroots
Experience on Capitol Hill, the Executive Branch or relevant adjacent industry (re: trade associations, advocacy groups, or member associations)
Additional experience, education and work product to determine level of seniority within job function
