Position Description:

He/She will have strong understanding of current state/local political issues, stakeholders, and state/local priorities, and be knowledgeable with respect to agency operations, budgeting, and procurement procedures. Prior government service and/or experience are highly preferred. Must be able to work closely with the Director Government Relations for the region, which includes states in the Midwest and South, and be accountable and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and government officials.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work with the Director, Government Relations for the region in developing, executing, and monitoring a coordinated government relations plan and political stakeholder analysis.
• Work with the Director, Government Relations for the region in providing knowledge and targeted advocacy during a procurement cycle.
• Support and drive Political Action Committee (CGI PAC) giving and activities.
• Work with the Director, Government Relations for the region in developing jurisdiction’s campaign contribution strategy.
• Actively monitor and provide direct leadership in elections important to CGI.
• Serve as a representative to political associations.
• Track legislation and budget process in the legislature.
• Conduct opposition research (i.e., Competitor’s political, in-kind and charitable contributions).
• Monitor media and assist with implementing public relations strategy.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree plus three years of directly related experience
• Strong communications skills
• MS Office
