Government Relations Coordinator

340B Health has an immediate opening for a Government Relations Coordinator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for supporting efforts to shape the strategies and tactics to effectively represent the organization on Capitol Hill, with the administration, and throughout the 340B provider community. The GR Coordinator will play an integral role in our grassroots program and work closely with 340B Health member hospitals to engage in advocacy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Play a key role in organizing and executing two Capitol Hill lobby days per year including event logistics, program preparation, and participant recruitment
Closely monitor and inform staff of 340B activity on Capitol Hill including legislation, hearings, and other congressional activity impacting the 340B program
Assist in developing advocacy strategies and talking points and oversee day-to-day administration of advocacy campaigns designed to achieve policy objectives
Support and contribute to Government Relations projects including newsletters, webinars, and action alerts
Maintain a government relations database, including advocacy coordination with member GR teams
Assist in growing the network of grassroots advocates throughout the country and mobilizing members as needed to support advocacy outreach, goals, and other initiatives
Assists work with member hospitals to develop and share with policymakers the impact 340B has on their hospitals and patients
Update content and maintain association’s grassroots toolkit website
Broad support for the full spectrum of grassroots programs.
Support activities relating to 340B Health Political Action Committee
Attend and assist with bi-annual conferences
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated experience in a legislative setting or in government relations is a plus
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Congress and the legislative process preferred
Commitment to schedules, deadlines, and high-quality work product
Demonstrated organizational and communications skills
Experience using government relations databases and software
Proficiency using Microsoft Office

Staff are currently in the office on a minimum of 2-3 days per week schedule during the COVID pandemic. A permanent policy governing the number of days required to work in the office has not yet been established. Candidates for this position must live in or be relocating to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and be able to work in the Washington, D.C. office.
340B Health requires all employees for whom the COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for use by the World Health Organization (WHO) be vaccinated against COVID-19. Employees are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after the single-dose J&J/Janssen vaccine. 340B Health will consider exemption requests from candidates who cannot be vaccinated due to disability, medical contraindication, or sincerely held religious beliefs and those who claim an exemption under applicable state law.
