Role Summary
This multidimensional role directly contributes to achieving our company’s aggressive growth goals.  Reporting directly to our Director of Government Relations, you will make an immediate impact by providing research and statewide data analytics that will immediately help the company make strategic decisions in driving statewide partnership opportunities. This is a full-time, remote opportunity requiring some travel within the United States. Our ideal candidate will be located in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States, residing within one of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah or Wyoming.

Role Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Responsible for working collaboratively with the sales team to identify priorities and develop/implement annual communications and public affairs plans for each state in the region.
  • Identify funding partners that align with grants and RFP’s that align throughout the designated region
  • Responsible for advocating and executing public affairs efforts to the appropriate Executive, Legislative and Regulatory areas in assigned states.
  • Responsible for developing relationships in the states with key influencers, thought leaders and advocates.
  • Accountable for retaining and managing contract lobbyists, managing association relationships, and direct legislative, political and lobbying activities.
  • Responsible for tracking, monitoring, advocating and reporting on relevant legislation and regulatory proceedings.
  • Attend major workforce development ribbon cuttings throughout your specific region.

Role Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A strong background in government and policy
  • 7+ years’ experience working in public policy
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to speak publicly, often before senior government, technology, and education leaders.
  • Strong organization skills
  • General knowledge of education policy and politics.
  • Deep understanding of political and legislative processes.
  • Willing to travel to support statewide initiatives
  • Experience in grassroots initiatives is a plus
  • Experience in a government/policy role is strongly preferred
