Since 1991, The National Breast Cancer Coalition has been at the vanguard of the breast cancer movement –
elevating breast cancer to an issue of national significance, leveraging billions of federal dollars for research and
care, and empowering tens of thousands of breast cancer survivors to become effective advocates for
themselves, and all those at risk of breast cancer. NBCC is the organization that will end breast cancer; we are
activists who set a research agenda to ensure that outcome, who tell the truth about breast cancer, upend the
status quo, and empower survivors to be leaders for this cause.
Reporting to the Chief Policy Officer, the Grassroots Coordinator will work with the CPO to develop and
implement strategies to expand, support and enhance the national grassroots network by recruiting, educating
and mobilizing volunteersto act on behalf of the legislative and public policy priorities of NBCC. The candidate
will manage and provide support/technical assistance to individuals and member organizations enabling them to
expand NBCC’s visibility in their communities and will help develop and implement grassroots campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in related field and three (3) to five (5) years experience in non-profit grassroots mobilizing
and public policy. Ability to interact at the highest level of professionalism with all grassroots advocates,
member organizations, congressional staff, state legislative staff, federal and state agencies and the general
public, experience in electoral campaigns, field operations, or grassroots organizing, and a demonstrated record
of successful coalition-building experience, preferably with a national grassroots organization. Regular travel
might be required in post Covid-19 climate. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet and working with
databases are essential.

This is a full-time permanent in-person position. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all NBCC staff are
