The American Trucking Associations (ATA), the nation’s leading trade and lobby association representing the trucking industry, has an immediate opening for a Grassroots Program Manager.

This position assists the SVP, Legislative Affairs and Director of Political Affairs with planning and managing the daily activities of the ATA grassroots program. These efforts include coordinating and managing ATA’s Call on Washington (COW – ATA’s member DC Fly-in) program, being engaged in ATA issue campaigns, managing and deploying ATA’s grassroots database, as well as communicating with ATA membership and Federation partners. This position interacts with ATA staff, ATA membership, Federation partners and conferences, outside vendors, and congressional schedulers.

An ideal candidate is a people person who excels at organization and creative thinking. Experience working in a Congressional office setting or within the Legislative/Government Affairs functions within an association or non-profit is a plus. If you have a knack for working with Grassroots Management Systems, preferably ones similar to BGOV, this could be the next step of your career. This role will be part of a close-knit legislative affairs team that consistently delivers for our members.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Relevant Experience – BS/BA required plus 2 years prior experience in trade associations, corporate government affairs or state government, preferable in political affairs and grassroots development.

Skill Requirements- Must be organized and a creative thinker, a strategic planner, and a strong advocate. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be a self-starter and team player capable of setting priorities, solving problems and managing a wide-range of projects efficiently. MS Office and database management skills required. Event planning experience is also preferred.
