The Executive Director for U.S. Bank Communications will work closely with the management team of the U.S. Banks and the Head of Wealth Management Communications to define and execute an integrated communications strategy for the business. He/She will employ both traditional and digital channels to reach key audiences that include distribution teams, clients, potential clients and employees.

Position Responsibilities:

Create a proactive and integrated communications strategy that articulates the U.S. Banks business, in partnership with Wealth Management, as a driver of growth for the Firm.

Craft key thematic messages and a Bank “identity” that reinforces the U.S. Banks strategy and raises awareness around Bank solutions and capabilities.

At a business level, partner with the U.S. Bank product leads to create individual communication plans to reach the major audiences on both strategic initiatives as well as regular, ongoing touchpoints (daily, weekly etc.).

Develop a multi-channel strategy with tailored communications to various audiences, with particular emphasis on the WM Field organization.

Work with the Bank leadership team on issues management, anticipating how events may generate reaction and responding in a quick and decisive manner to present the Firm’s response and perspective.

Apply reliable metrics to prioritize and analyze the effectiveness of communications initiatives.

Responsibility for speechwriting and presentation creation for senior Bank leaders to ensure compelling and consistent messages on priorities and principles.

Manage internal communications for the U.S. Banks, including organizational announcements.

Provide guidance and support on all matters related to enhancing and protecting the reputation of the franchise.

Partner with WM Corporate Communications, which has responsibility for U.S. Banks’ media relations, to ensure appropriate media visibility for U.S. Banks’ strategic priorities and business initiatives.

Capitalize on opportunities for positive visibility of the U.S. Bank business internally and externally.

Build strong partnerships with Corporate Communications teams across the Firm, including the WM Corporate Communications team.



Demonstrated communications experience with a broad working knowledge of Financial Services and a familiarity with the Wealth Management business.

Strong writing skills (creative and persuasive) are absolutely essential.

Strategic thinker with the ability to create effective and integrated multi-channel communications strategies.

The credibility and presence to advise senior product leads on strategic communications issues.

A proven leader who can work collaboratively and effectively manage a small, close team.

A collaborator who can effectively navigate a complex organization and forge the relationships required to achieve results.
