This role will directly report to the Senior Director, Strategic Engagement and operationally report to the Vice President, Public Policy Center of Excellence.

This position, situated within the Corporate Affairs function, will play a critical role in imbuing geopolitical perspectives into executive decisionmaking, incorporating global company priorities into a robust external engagement strategy and supporting Global Public Policy Center of Excellence objectives. Specifically, you will help (1) advance an executive engagement strategy that supports global company objectives; (2) drive an external engagement approach in DC that promotes both global- and market-driven objectives; (3) ensure c-suite-facing material reflects geopolitical realities; (4) inform business decisionmaking via geopolitical analysis; and (5) support the Public Policy Center of Excellence through information management and public policy deliverables. Your Accountabilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day of PepsiCo’s DC-based international engagement and support the development of its overarching strategy; this includes promoting strong relationships with globally-focused U.S. government officials, the DC-based diplomatic corps, high-level foreign delegations, think tanks and DC-based membership organizations—in close partnership with Corporate Affairs Market Leads—with a goal to enable PepsiCo to thrive in a global marketplace
  • Empower successful senior executive engagement through training and by owning strategic briefers for sector CEOs and market input into briefers for global or functional leadership
  • Oversee the development of resources that help inform executive insights of the political / policy environment, which influences decisionmaking around M&A, business development, procurement and supply chain, and the SharePoint knowledge management sites on which they are housed
  • Support the Public Policy Center of Excellence and markets by (1) gathering market-level information on regulatory developments; (2) recording the information in a central database; (3) generating trackers, reports, maps or other materials as needed; and (4) maintaining internal repositories of Public Policy material
  • Lead a team of sector-facing associates and serve as a critical node to other relevant teams within Corporate Affairs, including North America Federal Affairs, External Affairs and the Foundation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g government, public policy, communications)
  • 8+ years of experience in an applicable professional capacity
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., government, public policy, communications)
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadline with limited supervision
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Ability to manage a team with various and competing priorities / projects and to partner with all levels of an organization in support of defined objectives
  • Highly proactive, entrepreneurial and able to navigate ambiguity and complexity while delivering successful solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, including comfort with supporting and interacting with senior executives
  • Advanced knowledge of geopolitical trends and their impacts on business
  • Extensive experience with U.S. Government institutions and key DC-based stakeholders (e.g., U.S. Government, Foreign Embassies, Councils, think tanks)
  • Ability to translate complex issues for different audiences (e.g., executives, business, external stakeholders)
  • Experience with and/or demonstrated understating of policy / regulatory environments in different geographies and cultural contexts
