About this role

What will you be responsible for?

Creatively designs and delivers global communication strategies and campaigns to support Newmont’s value, purpose and priorities. Work with key functional and operational leaders, the Manager will articulate the desired future business culture in a cohesive and consistent manner, through providing communications support to business wide projects. Responsible for developing Group wide messaging, plans and supporting materials including leader messages, digital content, speeches and, video, to drive employee engagement, ensuring reach to frontline/offline employees.

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

• We implement employee communications activities across multiple channels that are people-centric, surprising and engage employees in different ways.
• We plan and coordinate communication campaigns to support business projects and initiatives including the writing, editing and ongoing tactical employee communications.
• We contribute to Newmont’s line of online services, products and programs in collaboration with the Digital Communications Manager and Manger of External Communications and Brand Management.
• We continually evaluate the efficiency of existing communications channels and identify new and creative ways to reach employees.
•  We provide mentorship to leaders with department and employee communications by developing and coordinating communications plans.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

Knowledge:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or other Communications subject area.
•    Post graduate communications or marketing work preferred.
Experience:
•    Min. 5+ years of experience in corporate communications or marketing communications.
•    High level of experience interacting with senior partners and working with cross functional teams.
•    Demonstrated results of proactively identifying moments for marketing communications content via a broad number of channels that help elevate employee engagement.
•    Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity with experience in multi-cultural and multi-national organizations.
•    Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy proven experience is helpful. Have experience in working successfully in a high matrixed organization.
Skills and Abilities:
•    Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    Strong change leadership skills particularly in understanding and articulating a desired future culture of Newmont.
•    Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.

The salary range offered for this role is $98,400-129,150. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
