ell in Fort Worth, TX has an opening for an experienced Sr International Government Affairs Specialist to join the team.

The Sr International Government Affairs Specialist reports to the Manager, International Government Affairs and will help advance Bell’s relationships with a wide range of global stakeholders to achieve the company’s business priorities in international markets.  This position will work closely with Bell DC, Advanced Vertical Lift, Military and Commercial Sales teams, as well as other Textron Business Units, to execute an aligned strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Government Affairs team in developing advocacy and communication strategies to advance Bell interests and priorities across the international landscape utilizing external consultants, industry associations, and other forums
  • Help Military and Commercial Sales teams to identify and support priority international opportunities and develop integrated public affairs strategies to support
  • Interface with Bell DC, Textron DC, and Textron Business Units to align corporate international government relations strategies and manage key issues
  • Research and support strategic mitigation of business environment, regulatory and/or trade issues that could impact business abroad
  • Monitor newspapers, industry publications, economic trends, social media, legislation, and regulatory ruling that may impact operations, products and procedures or other impacts. Inform leadership of potential issues, recommend solutions, and implement solutions upon approval
  • Partner with strategic communications and other key functions to support strategic policy/regulatory objectives and build Bell brand awareness in country/region
  • Develop policy positions and draft position papers, talking points, testimonies and event briefs to support communications and key engagements
  • Assist in the management of external consultants and association memberships
  • Track stakeholder engagement and develop communications tools and dashboards to monitor progress
  • Travel internationally and to Washington, DC, as needed to support international engagements

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, political science, or international relations, or similar discipline.

Position Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working with government affairs, public policy, or aerospace/defense industry experience in business development / program management
  • A keen interest in foreign policy, diplomacy, and protocol
  • Ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues
  • Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy
  • A collaborative, consultative approach to work
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with high-level stakeholders and experts
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills (editorial and proofreading), including the ability to communicate complex concepts and topics
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, adjust to changing circumstances, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with full suite of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed

Preferred Education and Skills:

  • Multi-lingual skills
  • Experience with stakeholder mapping software /services
  • A combination of aerospace / defense industry and USG (Executive and/or Legislative Branch) experience
  • Experience with government affairs and public policy in Canada, Mexico, Czech Republic, Singapore, Netherlands, Japan, and/or the European Union
