Lead Reputation and Research Analyst – Corporate Affairs

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Lead Reputation and Research Analyst – Corporate Affairs through July 27, 2021.

This role will lead Corporate Affair’s (CA) reputation and research program, including developing a fully integrated reputation department that helps guide practitioners in making business decisions. Working in partnership with Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Social Investment and embedded CA business staff, this position will identify and secure key data sources that will drive advanced analytics to enable actionable insights and risk mitigation by both the function and our business partners.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the lead for the development and design of research strategies on major issues and opportunities related to company reputation, messaging and audience segmentation.

  • Oversee research vendors on survey projects, including sources of information, procedures, sample size and design of survey instruments and materials.

  • Serve as the function’s expert on all technical aspects of survey measurement including the design, contracting, execution, data analysis and interpretation of public opinion and marketing research. Provide deep insights and recommendations to relevant audiences.

  • Provide insights, analysis, and foresight on issues and opportunities, how they are manifesting themselves among stakeholders and how Chevron should engage.

  • Provide leadership in the development of emerging data analytics that support CA and the business. Understand and uses current internet-based, mobile and social analytics tools and methodologies and the correlation of offline and online data sources. Stay current on the latest trends in digital and social measurement strategies and tactics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in political science, survey or social science research.

  • 10+ years of experience in quantitative fields such as survey research, reputation analytics and statistics, or demographics.

  • Strong theoretical and practical familiarity with all aspects of survey research. Should have experience in the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research.

  • Experience with strategic thinking and planning, demonstrated analytical and comprehensive business and commercial knowledge.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and the application of sophisticated data analytic tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and analyze detailed reports, provide meaningful insight for the business and give direction on analytic conclusions and business impacts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI or Domo and experience with Unix, Python or large datasets.

Location: San Ramon, CA; Houston, TX or Washington, DC will all be considered
