Legislative Affairs Coordinator

This position is responsible for providing support to the Association’s legislative department.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and coordinate calendars, contacts, expense reports and travel requirements for the legislative department
  • Assist in preparing briefing materials and scheduling logistics for federal legislative fly-ins, PAC events, and internal and external meetings
  • Draft, revise and publish articles and communications for Association’s website, social media and other platforms
  • Prepare and summarize a weekly compilation of news stories for distribution to membership
  • Research issues, finalize meeting notes, and report on congressional hearings
  • Proof and edit legislative department correspondence; maintain department files
  • Coordinate the legislative department’s online resources, committee databases and subscriptions


Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment
  • A high degree of responsibility, initiative and professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals
  • Proficient in computer and web skills, including but not limited to Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 to 3 years of experience
