If so, the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) has an immediate opening for an individual interested in a policy career that will be responsible for developing and implementing new payment mechanisms and serving as the primary staff responsible for coding education. This position will be the organizational liaison to the system that develops the codes for reimbursement for professional health services.
AOTA, a national health care professional association located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, seeks a Manager for Coding & Payment Policy in our Public Affairs Division. This position will have critical responsibilities for the Association’s activities in coding and reimbursement, regulatory analysis and advocacy, and communication to members. Primarily responsible for providing leadership and analytical support related to public and/or private payment policies, particularly in relation to the Common Procedural Terminology (CPT©) as published by the American Medical Association (AMA), the AMA/ Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) and activities of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Requirements: BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or a combination of formal education and experience. Advanced degree in law, health policy, public or health administration preferred but not required. Technical work requires high level of computer analysis. Must possess excellent writing skills, project management and strategic thinking ability. Strong interpersonal/communication skills are also required.
