What You’ll Get to Do:

– Support VP Corporate and Government Affairs in managing all lobbying, advocacy and public policy strategy related to the EV battery business in North America.

– Work closely with other GPA team members to ensure coordination across various portfolios. Dotted line to PEC Government Affairs (Japan).

– Closely coordinate, get direction on strategy, and regularly update PEC, MEBD and PENA. Ensure coordination with other battery and automotive related businesses in Panasonic (PIDSA, PASA, SMO) to leverage scale and avoid conflicts.

– Monitor legislative and regulatory developments on EV battery public policy.

– Represent Panasonic EV battery interests in relevant trade associations (ZETA, Auto Innovators, NAM, etc.). Work with political consultants to advance Panasonic EV battery priorities.

– Help manage public affairs and political engagement in Nevada, Kansas and other relevant locations in coordination with PEXNA COM.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Washington, DC with a focus on energy and EV battery policy and critical mineral
  • In-depth knowledge of government public policymaking process (Congress, Administration)
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s preferred


  • Tam player – work collaboratively with GPA office, PEC/MEBD/PENA, and other businesses
  • Flexibility – Ability to be flexible and take on assignments not directly related to portfolio

  • Position is based in Washington, DC
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to analyze issues
  • Ability to travel and represent company in public forums
