Manager of Grassroots Development

This is an excellent opportunity for an association professional, political operative, legislative staffer, or grassroots organizer to move into the next phase of their career. The position offers strong opportunities to create and develop your own grassroots plans and solutions. Further, with thousands of supporters, the position offers a high level of visibility among New York’s leaders in politics and law.
Responsibilities
• Represents LRANY at conferences, trade shows, and political gatherings
• Develops a strong familiarity with LRANY public policy goals
• Grows LRANY’s existing network of grassroots supporters and encourages them to engage with their local legislators and other business and political leaders in their area
• Coordinates in-district lobbying campaigns with local supporters, members, and association allies
• Builds a Speaker’s Bureau of LRANY members who can speak to LRANY’s issues in specific regions
• Manages LRANY’s Regional Advisory Boards, regional meetings of LRANY members and supporters
• Identifies new members and supporters across regions and industries and supports LRANY’s fundraising activities
• Maintains member and potential members in LRANY’s CRM software database
• Coordinates online letter-writing campaigns
• Manages LRANY’s social media accounts, including but not limited to paid advertising and promotions on social media
• Encourages members and allies to echo social media posts
• Creates social media and grassroots plans for various public policy goals, events, and reports
Qualifications
• Three to five years of grassroots development experience, association management experience, and/or experience managing social media for a company or non-profit
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Zoom
• Proven ability to grow and develop strong professional networks
• Strong organizational skills, especially scheduling in-person or virtual meetings between several parties across several regions
• Must be able to travel to meetings and events
• Bachelor’s degree
• Eligible to lobby in New York State (preferred)
• Experience in New York public policy (preferred)
• Experience working on political campaigns (preferred)
• Experience in law (preferred)
