Lead Internal Communications Content Team to create meaningful, memorable and actionable enterprise wide communications that inform and engage associates.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT AND STRATEGY 

  • Oversee internal communications content strategy with an enterprise-wide focus to ensure associates are informed on key business initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee strategic communication plans and content for large scale, enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Manage multi-faceted communication plans with a focus on driving consistent messaging and branding across multiple internal communications channels.
  • Leverage analytics to guide content strategy and pivot plans as needed to ensure objectives are met and exceeded.
  • Align internal communications timing and content with external communications where appropriate by creating strong relationships with Public Relations and Social content teams.
  • Consider macro- retail, consumer and social climate when developing internal communications to ensure the associate stakeholder group remains engaged, inspired and committed to the company.

EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATION SUPPORT 

  • Support C-Suite leadership with internal communications and events inclusive of building meeting agendas, creating talking points/scripts, and managing meeting logistics and content approvals.
  • Ghostwrite internal communications for C-Suite leadership.

STRONG BUSINESS PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS

  • Build, develop and grow business relationships with partners across the organization fostering support for internal communication strategies and gathering feedback.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to stay constantly in-the-know on company initiatives.

LEAD HIGH PERFORMING TEAM 

  • Lead a high performing team by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, fostering collaboration, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications.
  • Oversee team projects to ensure the work is being completed in alignment with objectives while maintaining timelines and processes.
  • Review and edit content with a strong focus on AP Style.
  • Develop team through coaching, sharing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments, and establishing performance and development plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing
  • 6+ years of experience in Communications, Journalism or Marketing
  • Proven leadership skills with 2+ years experience managing a high performing team
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent prioritization and decision-making skills
  • Proven project management skills with ability to multitask without sacrificing detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing, proofreading and editing communications focused on AP Style
  • Hybrid role located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (at least two in-office days required per week, could be more as needed for role)

  • Experience in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Experience with large company
