Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, the manager of internal communications is responsible for planning and executing effective communications strategies to engage employees and support leaders to propel the business forward across North America and the United States. She/he will manage and implement planning, logistics, and messaging for all Communications as well as help serve as a key liaison and dynamic resource for various departments and global teams within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and refresh all internal communication channels; keeping them up-to-date and looking at new trends to introduce new opportunities

    • Identify and implement innovative employee communications technologies / platforms (e.g., video, live streams)

    • Have a strong eye on the future and make recommendations for improvements of internal communications tools based on insights, best practices and business objectives including simplicity, openness and collaboration

    • Bring new ideas to the communications team including but not limited to surveys, polls, employee contests, events & virtual events, activities to boost employee engagement and recognition, and inspire the company

  • Work closely with Director of Internal Communications on adapting the Global news portal

    • Build relationships with key stakeholders

    • Develop project management calendars and timelines

  • Assist the team in bringing to life PR NA and USA culture project as an active key member

  • Managing editor of the weekly employee communications newsletter in partnership with the communications coordinator

    • Ensure energizing content and timely execution

    • Secure stakeholder buy-in and approval

    • Analyze and maintain weekly dashboards

  • Proactively source engaging content and draft communications across internal communications vehicles including newsletter, intranet, print publications, etc.

  • Assist Director in managing editorial calendar, having fun, being creative and making strong / strategic recommendations on content

  • Manage internal communications events such as CODI Q&As, Quarterly Information meetings, Happy Hours and other special projects

  • Report on progress against business plans and objectives, reviewing progress with Director, Internal Communications communicating achievements and emerging issues

  • Support Communications Director with executive communications, including drafting talking points, scripts, organizational announcements, slides and other collateral representing senior leadership

  • Support Communications Director to build strong partnerships with senior leadership to help develop divisional communications strategies

  • Supports Director on change management strategy and activity to help drive engagement and understanding across the company

Required Skills & Abilities

A successful individual will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Teams

  • Attention to detail, digital-savviness and creativity are a must

  • A creative problem solver focused on continuous improvement

  • A positive and enthusiastic team player

  • Proficiencies in problem solving and the ability to multi-task are key competencies for success.

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint and [new technology] is a bonus

  • Change Management communications experience a plus

  • Business savvy and strategic thinking

Working conditions

Work is performed in an agile work environment focused on performance and results. Normal visual acuity required for correspondence and computer terminal usage. Occasional travel is required.

Required:  Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred:  Graduate Degree in communications or related field


Required:  5-7 years experience in internal communications
