As Manager, PAC & Internal Communications, in Washington D.C. you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.
As a member of the Internal Communications team, reporting directly to the Head of Internal Communications and working closely with the Head of Federal Government Affairs and Policy and Director, Political Affairs, the Manager will provide strategic internal communications counsel, integrated planning and execution in support of our Political Affairs strategy. This includes participating in the development and delivery of effective internal communication campaigns that align with business strategies and initiatives, with a focus on coordinating our communications strategies for our Political Action Committee (AZ PAC) and our AZ Citizens Action Network (AZ CAN) activations across US employees. Additionally, this includes providing assistance with the successful formation and pull through of federally focused Political Affairs strategies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As Manager, PAC & Internal Communications, you will work with the Internal Communications team and our State Government Affairs and Federal Government Affairs & Policy teams to develop and execute comprehensive, integrated communication plans and campaigns that drive employee engagement; participate in the development of communications strategies and execution for internal communications channels and ensure all communications share a unified, on-brand look and feel that reflect the company’s business priorities and strategy.
Additionally as Manager, PAC & Internally Communications, you will manage and execute programs and projects to ensure deadlines are met, deliverables are agreed, budgets are adhered to, and outcomes meet the established program and project objectives; draft/write, and/or edit communications intended for internal audiences and help ensure communications are on-message and pushed through the appropriate channels.
Additional accountabilities will include supporting business announcements and collaborating with external communications to ensure internal and external messages are aligned; participating in cross-functional collaboration and information exchange across the organization; monitoring and assisting in gaining employee feedback through formal and information communications; supporting development and consistent use of communication channels and identifying and developing content from clients and client projects to imbed into ongoing corporate communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public relations and/or in a corporate communications function or public relations agency
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- First-rate coordination, collaboration, organization and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines, work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
- Experience with marketing and/or commercial communications
- Experience with State and Federal Government Affairs, policy communications and corporate PACs
- Knowledge of the US healthcare system and an ability to understand and interpret scientific and medical data
