We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Political Outreach.  As the Manager of Political Outreach, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing our political engagement strategies, building relationships with key stakeholders, and representing our organization in political circles.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct CULAC’s candidate vetting process, with particular emphasis on researching, interviewing and vetting open seat Congressional candidates. Maintain tracking and reporting of CULAC candidate support decisions.
  • Interface with political campaigns, national party committees, and related entities to assist in CUNA’s political efforts on behalf of supported candidates, with particular attention and outreach to federal level candidates, their campaigns and other political entities. Work with Washington PAC fundraisers to coordinate CUNA-hosted events on behalf of Members and candidates at CUNA offices or Credit Union House and with state leagues and credit unions on local events. Travel may be necessary in implementation of political action programs.
  • Administer PAC procedures including clearing and processing of disbursements, candidate budgets and disbursement decisions in coordination with state leagues.
  • Research and monitor federal campaigns and candidates as well as national party committees and other external political organizations to advise Senior Director, Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer, and Chief Political Officer on appropriate political action and support on behalf of candidates.
  • Manage communications of CULAC candidate support and decisions with key stakeholders by developing and reporting content through CULAC Quarterly, CULAC website and donor communications.
  • Assist in implementing political action campaigns on behalf of targeted candidates, such as field and GOTV efforts, in coordination with Senior Director, Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer, and Chief Political Officer, and other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Experience with Federal Election Law and political environment helpful. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required. MS office, superior database and general IT skills required. Excellent writing and communications skills. Proven track record of presentation skills and presentation development as well as knowledge of FEC rules are needed.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Political Science, Government, History or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of political campaign, Capitol Hill or political fundraising experience is required
