This position will help lead Apple’s government affairs engagement with Federal and State regulators and policy entities, and will also generally monitor and engage on regulatory issues across several agencies and with trade associations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how State and Federal policymaking works, and a broad understanding of the larger regulatory landscape on issues important to Apple.
Key Qualifications
  • Deep experience on issues important to Apple, and expertise on working in the regulatory space. Experience working with international bodies and relevant non-governmental organizations is also desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory process, and experience working with State and Federal regulatory and oversight agencies.
  • Experience with Congress and State legislative bodies is desirable.
  • Strong professional network of government affairs, trade association, and policymaker professionals important to Apple is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to concisely summarize policy issues and advocacy points.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous work environment and lead change laterally across organizations using influencing skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who must enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Teammate with a strong willingness to pitch in as necessary.
This position will be heavily involved in the development of technology-related government affairs strategies and regulatory engagement efforts on the State and Federal level. This position will work closely with other government affairs and legal professionals, and with software and hardware engineers.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred (especially in law or economics). Typically requires a minimum of eight years of experience in government, government relations, or other advocacy/engagement roles.
