Manager, Strategy and Government Relations
Erie Family Health Centers is looking for a strategic thinker and relationship builder to join our team! The Manager, Strategy and Government Relations fulfills a key role in ensuring that Erie Family Health Center remains financially strong and sustains its leadership position among community health centers in Chicagoland and nationally. The role will be divided equally between strategy and government relations work.
Partner with the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development to develop recommendations that will advance the long-term sustainability of Erie’s values and mission and ensure that Erie retains a strong competitive market position.
Support strategic planning and the annual development and monitoring of strategic goals so that they are timely, focused, and meaningful.
Support Erie’s growth planning and execution, both in terms of site growth and patient acquisition/retention efforts as well as expanding strategic partnerships with hospitals.
Provide project management for select strategic initiatives, including creating work plans and ensuring that all parties are meeting deadlines for deliverables.
In partnership with Erie’s finance, managed care, and BI teams, provide analytic support for Erie’s strategy and business development function. Translate raw information into actionable strategies.
In collaboration with the SVP, Strategy and Business Development, and Erie’s CEO, develop and lead Erie’s government relations strategy to strengthen relationships with local, state, and federal elected officials and government agencies and increase their understanding of and support for Erie.
Serve as Erie’s primary point of contact for elected officials and their staff.
Stay abreast of relevant legislative and regulatory activities, analyze potential impact on Erie operations, and identify and communicate internally about priority issues.
Communicate and advocate Erie priorities by leveraging efforts of Erie leadership, board, and staff. Collaborate with Erie’s Marketing and Communications team as needed.
Plan and execute legislative meetings and other types of engagement with key governmental officials and community stakeholders.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Masters or other graduate level degree in public policy, health care administration, business, or other related field strongly preferred.
Minimum of two years’ experience in health care, management consulting, strategic planning, government relations, or other related position required. (If candidate does not have graduate degree, more significant work experience is expected.)
