Position Summary

The Marketing and Communications Team is seeking a full-time, Marketing & Communications
Coordinator to join Maternity Care Coalition. As a member of the Marketing and Communications team you will play an integral part in all external and internal communications for the organization.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will play a key role within the team, acting as the
first point of contact for project requests, coordinating the planning, execution and reporting on multiple projects, campaigns and grants with internal programs and departments as well as with external partners.

The ideal candidate will possess strong and effective communication skills, while always
maintaining an approachable and friendly attitude. With a thorough understanding of marketing, this person should also have superior organizational skills, and an ability to adapt to changing circumstances and situations in a strategic and thoughtful manner. Lastly, the Marketing &
Communications Coordinator should have the enthusiasm to learn, develop key skills and grow within the organization.

Essential Tasks

  • Manage social media including: content creation, day-to-day management including posting, maintaining engagement and reporting
  • Social media advertising, creating ads to effectively achieve goals and objectives, monitoring and analyzing ad results
  • Assist with the design of marketing and communications materials and oversee the production of all marketing materials
  • Coordinate marketing project requests; clarifying project requirements, proposing timeline, establish budgets, act as liaison between teams and monitor progress
  • Support marketing team by assisting in the execution and distribution of all marketing campaigns and projects while staying within budget. Support areas include but are not limited to:
    • Events
    • Asset Creation
    • Digital Marketing
    • Ordering and Printing of deliverables created in-house
  • Help maintain content on website, external media pages, social media, promotional and other marketing materials
  • Create and maintain reports and recaps for marketing initiatives, including grants while thoughtfully summarizing and pulling key analytical data
  • Assist in all aspects of organization’s communications internally and externally
  • In coordination with the Director of Communications oversee all aspects of the public relations including; writing press releases, media toolkits, bios, pitching media, garnering placements and monitoring relevant media
  • Assists with event communications for organization by creating by drafting scripts or talking points as needed and managing social media at events
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Tasks

  • Keep track of Marketing Department calendars, including; project calendars, events calendars and campaign schedules
  • Aid in distribution and management of photo archive, this can include; uploading photos from events, distributing photos to appropriate parties, assisting in capturing photos and managing photo releases for PR
  • Research and maintain knowledge of industry trends

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in teams and individually
  • Positive and cheery personality with a sense of humor
  • Proficiency with computer and PR/marketing applications including Cision/Meltwater, Google Analytics, WordPress, Canva, Facebook ads etc
  • Enthusiasm for Maternity Care Coalition’s mission and nonprofit work is a must
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact and professionalism

Experience, Education, and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or other related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant marketing experience; internships will be considered
  • Excellent communications skills, able communicate effectively and thoughtfully
  • Superior organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computer and PR/marketing applications including Cision/Meltwater, Google Analytics, Facebook ads etc.
  • Experience with Adobe In-Design and/or Illustrator
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and problem solve
