The Marketing Manager is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing market strategy and brand recognition, and for achieving marketing targets. This position will work with the management team to ensure the best possible service and effective communications to Mary’s Center participants and partners. The Marketing Manager will act as the direct supervisor of the Project Manager & Outreach Coordinator and will be a key team member of the Marketing and Communications Department.
Reportability
This position will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications. This position will manage the Project Manager & Outreach Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Serve as the lead marketing professional for the organization, providing support in the area of marketing strategy and management.
Develop the annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve goals across all campaign platforms (web/social/print/event) to support multiple programs within Mary’s Center.
Provide direction and execution of the market research function with the goal of conducting effective competitor analyses.
Design and implement story arcs that extend through multimedia marketing campaigns that promote Mary’s Center events and services.
Partner with Mary’s Center leadership and department directors to identify the most impactful and appropriate marketing tactics for each service line.
Create an organization wide marketing reporting function that can track, measure and analyze performance of campaigns.
Ensure all marketing communications are coordinated, strategic plan objectives are met, and marketing plan objectives are an effective expenditure of resources.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience –
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field.
5-7 years in the marketing field, preferably in a community-based organization.
Experience in identifying and executing real-world solutions and customer service experience a must.
Must have a sales mindset and be participant/mission centric.
Ability to understand big picture goals while executing against plans, able to flag issues and recommend adjustments to strategy
Experience creating and executing campaigns across marketing platforms
Excellent writer, able to write in brand voice and distill complex concepts
Experience writing for and/or developing digital content for website, email, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, blogging, etc.), and print
Experience managing website developers and performing basic website maintenance tasks
Experience working with external partners, leveraging cross-marketing opportunities with their client base
Able to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong collaborator, able to work as a team and across departments
Able to manage print production process and external design teams, work with outside vendors
Basic technical design skills a plus (InDesign, Adobe suite)
Direct marketing experience within the health care field, or transferrable experience, highly desirable.
Experience marketing within the DC/MD/VA region a strong asset
Physical Demands – Regularly required sitting; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Work Environment – Mostly in a typical office setting with quiet to moderate noise level. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. however afterhours project work is sometimes required. This position requires local travel between clinic sites. Opportunity to work a hybrid schedule – remotely and onsite, as needed
