Media Research Analyst

Cision is looking for talented Media Research Analysts to research and code relevant media information in our proprietary system for clients in the financial, industrial, technology and automotive sectors. We offer a challenging environment with an opportunity to gain experience in communications research. Applicants should be comfortable conducting keyword searches in online, print and broadcast media, and be able to quickly scan search results for relevant articles. Applicants should have strong organization and research skills and be able to work under deadlines. Attention to detail and punctuality are essential to this position.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze traditional and social media data
- Write and present reports
- Maintain client relationships
- Ensure data integrity
- Review coders’ work and provide feedback
- Develop sector expertise
- Should be a self-starter requiring minimal day-to-day supervision and should collaborate well with colleagues
- Complexity of problems solved is moderate to moderately complex with guidance
- Should be well-versed in all aspects of the platform(s) required for the work
Objectives:

- Collaborate and coordinate while remaining aware of project change implications
- Liaise with intercompany/cross-sector teams on deadlines and statuses
- Ownership of data sources, management and process, as well as scope, checks, corrections and updates
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Experience using PowerBI or Tableau, preferred
- Troubleshoot data issues/missing content of moderate complexity
- Minor backend fixes/iSuite changes
- Complete “owned” reports with little-to-no upper management approval (including multiple deadlines)
- Reports communicate solid findings/insights
- Begin special reports with minimal oversight
- Provide innovation and solutions to improve existing reports (advanced data visualization and design elements)
- Trusted, go-to respondent for client communications, including methodology questions, content of SOW, expectation management.
- Field requests for special/ad hoc reporting.
- Timeliness of all client comms and deliverables
- Ability to set and lead regular meetings
- Regular, proactive engagement with client
- Interpret existing SOW and track remaining deliverables
- Helps junior team members set priorities and tasks
- Begin to position as an expert in industry/client knowledge
- Create personal development plan and set goals
- Know when to escalate client concerns/ask for help
- Active, valuable contributor to internal meetings
- Well-developed time-management skills and ability to prioritize
- Can communicate methodology internally and externally
- Can manage a portal (from set-up phase forward)

For Individuals based in states with Pay Transparency requirements, Cision is required to disclose a salary range for this role. This compensation of $45,000 is specific to these states; however, base pay may vary depending on a range of relevant factors.
