People in the Corporate Function contribute to the running of Accenture as a high- performance business through specialization within a specific functional area, and grow into internally focused roles by deepening their skills and/or developing new skills within an internal functional area.

 

Legal and Commercial Services professionals deliver and coordinate legal, contract and commercial advice and counsel in support of Accenture’s or our clients’ business, working to manage and mitigate risk and ensure ethical behavior and compliance with laws and company policies.

 

Job Description

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead in the development and implementation of government relations strategies that advance business objectives in digital and technology, including but not limited to, artificial intelligence, data privacy, metaverse, internet safety and security, blockchain, cloud, and Internet of Things
  • Plan, facilitate and advance senior leadership engagement in government relations strategies on digital and technology issues, including development of relationships with policymakers, as well as other relevant senior government officials, trade associations, and think tanks
  • Represent Accenture and advocate on behalf of the company before policymakers, clients, government officials, regulators, stakeholder organizations, trade associations, and think tanks
  • Work collaboratively with our business and communications/marketing teams to identify and create impactful policy positioning opportunities at the intersection of government and business, with a focus on digital and technology issues
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on relevant legislative and regulatory policies, including but not limited to artificial intelligence, data privacy, metaverse, internet safety and security, blockchain, cloud, and Internet of Things
  • Assist in coordination of outside consultants for advocacy before policymakers, government officials, regulators, trade associations, other companies and think tanks
  • Build deep relationships with government and elected officials, industry trade associations, think tanks, alliance partners, and industry representatives
  • Leverage external resources, including trade associations, consultants, and think tanks, for advocacy and other initiatives to advance digital and technology priorities and objectives
  • Work collaboratively with global government relations team to identify and create opportunities that advance shared priorities and objectives
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a political engagement strategy that includes building support for the voluntary political action committee (PAC) and coordinating disbursements consistent with that strategy
  • Assist in the integration of political outreach and engagement as part of corporate citizenship and community initiatives
  • Work collaboratively across Legal and with other corporate functions to manage reputational and enterprise risks to the company as required

Qualifications

​Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Government Relations (Legislative, Regulatory, Policy and Corporate) experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Federal legislative organizations and processes, as well as policies and policymakers of interest and important to the company
  • Experience analyzing or leading in tech policy analysis, positioning and advocacy
  • Ability to translate business goals into results through the development and execution of an effective advocacy strategy, and a robust political relationship development program
  • Ability to leverage internal staff, subject matter experts and external consultants to advance strategies and objectives
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, for both internal and external audiences
  • Strong writing and legislative/policy analysis skills

 

Professional Skills:

  • Reputation for having the highest ethical standards and integrity
  • Understanding of business offerings of operating groups and service lines as well as company’s clients
  • Proven ability to organize, manage and deliver on metrics of major projects on a deadline and within a budget
  • Proven ability to effectively handle multiple complex projects and issues on the legislative, procurement, legal and compliance fronts
  • Proven ability to work with senior company executives, colleagues, outside regulatory officials, and industry contacts
  • Proven ability to lead and manage others to advance the objectives of the office and the company
  • Strong team building and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian

 

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $119,880 – $197,900 and information on benefits offered is here.
