Organic Content Policy, Manager

Meta
Los Angeles, CA | Austin, TX | Menlo Park, CA | Seattle, WA | San Francisco, CA
Meta is looking for an analytical thinker with experience in policy, government, business operations, or law to join our Organic Content Policy team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for our products that empower expression and foster a safe environment for people on Meta’s family of apps. As an Organic Content Policy team member, you will work closely with a number of other teams at Facebook and Instagram, including our Global Community Operations, Product, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy teams. You will play a key role in developing, applying, and communicating our Community Standards both internally and externally. You will also manage high-profile content escalations. At times, you will be expected to make difficult decisions, under pressure, about whether to allow or remove content. Many of these decisions will garner attention in the media and be the subject of intense debate in civil society and governments around the globe. The ideal candidate will be an execution-minded professional who can think strategically, adapt quickly, work independently, and rapidly earn credibility and trust within all levels of the organization. They will be able to critically analyze and communicate the costs and benefits of refinements to policies and their implementation, and to manage multiple internal stakeholders while balancing differing opinions and perspectives and weighing risk in order to provide effective policy advice to leadership. They should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve. Given the demands of content-related escalations, the candidate will sometimes be expected to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, or weekends.

  • Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Public Policy, Communications, Operations, Product, and Legal and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive policy improvements
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years experience in policy, government, project management, law, risk management, crisis communications, or operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts/humanities or related discipline
  • Effective at consensus-building, and communicating cross-functionally with internal audiences
  • Experience articulating complex issues clearly via multiple mediums, in a multi-tasking and fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Policy Development, Trust & Safety, Strategic Response, or Crisis Management
  • Experience managing and supporting a diverse team
  • Experience driving and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience framing and briefing difficult decisions to senior leadership
