MultiState Associates, the nation’s leading state and local government relations company, is hiring a Policy Analyst to join MultiState’s growing team. MultiState identifies threats and opportunities, develops strategies for engagement, and provides advocacy, research, and communications support in furtherance of our corporate and trade association clients’ state and local policy objectives.
The Policy Analyst will be a member of the Issues Management team and provide policy analysis and research to clients. The Policy Analyst will report to the Vice President, Issues Management and will work closely with other members of the Issue Management team, as well as other MultiState teams (Strategic Government Relations, Lobbying, and Lobbying Compliance) as needed.

⬝ Have strong research skills – statutory research experience a plus.

⬝ Be adaptable to changing timetables and able to prioritize effectively.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
⬝ Identify, analyze, and track state legislation and regulations, as well as issue trends related to client concerns.
⬝ Identify and report on local municipal activity, as well as issue trends related to client concerns.
⬝ Conduct policy research and analysis.
⬝ Draft legislative and regulatory summaries, issue trend reports, blog posts, and analysis on relevant state policy developments to be used both externally and for internal client purposes.
Skills and Experience:
⬝ Knowledge of labor/employment, healthcare/pharmacy, or environmental issues a plus.
⬝ Legal, legislative or public policy experience preferred.
⬝ Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
⬝ Ability to synthesize high volumes of information quickly and distill to basics for client audiences.
⬝ Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and expeditiously.
⬝ Ability to triage (i.e., know which projects and tasks are the most pressing and prioritize accordingly).
