Policy Innovation Lab Director

Millennial Action Project (MAP)
Washington D.C.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Policy Innovation Lab Director will lead the Millennial Action Project (MAP)’s efforts to educate, engage, and mobilize young lawmakers around a member-informed curated policy agenda in order to support bipartisan legislative advancements. The individual in this role will monitor policy trends and opportunities at the state and national level, manage relationships with policy experts to deliver briefings to the MAP network, and draft content and policy resources to share with the MAP network. The Director will also respond to member requests for policy information and help connect lawmakers to other practitioners and policy support.

While this individual is not expected to be a subject-matter expert on each issue that young legislators in our network are interested in, they should be able to identify nonpartisan and bipartisan leaders in those fields, and be able to frame policy solutions in a future-oriented way. The Innovation Lab Director will report to the VP of Strategy & Public Affairs and work closely with all members of the MAP team to further the organization’s mission.

ABOUT MILLENNIAL ACTION PROJECT

Millennial Action Project (MAP) has an audacious mission: activate young leaders to bridge the partisan divide and build a more functional democracy. MAP is a national, nonpartisan organization dedicated to supporting the next generation of elected leaders. We provide the resources, networking, and capacity-building opportunities for young policymakers to forge productive partnerships on the issues affecting the youngest generation of Americans.

In 2013, MAP organized the nation’s first and only caucus for young members of Congress, the Congressional Future Caucus, to build coalitions on future-oriented challenges. MAP also scaled this model into more than 30 state legislatures, each with a Future Caucus consisting of young, high-potential legislators, and now engages more than 1,600 young legislators nationwide.
