Engine is hiring a Policy Manager to help formulate and communicate our positions on key policy debates related to technology entrepreneurship. This person will be a core part of a small but growing team.

As Engine’s Policy Manager, you will:

  • Work closely with Engine staff to develop strategy and to shape Engine’s take on policy issues;

  • Monitor and provide analysis of various policies in development that would affect tech entrepreneurship;

  • Communicate Engine’s positions to policymakers and their staff;

  • Represent Engine in public and in working with allies;

  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with congressional staff, startups, and coalition partners.

What we’re looking for:

  • A demonstrated interest in the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship;

  • Experience working with federal policymakers and their staff on both sides of the aisle;

  • A familiarity with some of the policy issues impacting startups, such as blockchain, telecommunications, and intermediary liability, and must also be willing and able to develop expertise in new policy areas with limited direct guidance;

  • The ability write well and be articulate and persuasive (including in white papers, blog posts, op-eds, social media);

  • The ability to work well with and coordinate large coalition groups with disparate interests.


  • Recent experience working for a congressional office;

  • Political, startup/VC, or economics experience.
