Instagram seeks a Policy Programs Manager to lead our tourism and small business efforts. This person will be part of a global team that is responsible for designing and implementing programs and support our global public policy team goals that deepen people’s understanding of the economic impact Instagram enables around the globe. Successful candidates will have the skills and experience building substantive programs and relationships with internal stakeholders and key external policy stakeholders in the tourism and small and medium business industries.

They’ll work closely with cross-functional partners including our global public policy, communications, marketing, and creative teams to ensure we’re telling our economic impact story cohesively across audiences and programs. They’ll also partner closely with other regional policy teams around the world by sharing insights, best practices, assets, and program results.

Successful candidates will have a strong background and interest in developing and executing programs, deep experience in presenting publicly to a variety of audiences, including policymakers and the press, the proven ability to build needed relationships with key advocacy groups, policymakers, academics, and researchers, as well as experience building and executing policy initiatives.

This position is full-time and can be located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Menlo Park, California or Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify Instagram related policy opportunities within the tourism and small business industries and build global program strategy with end-to-end ownership from ideation to goal attainment.
  • Share trends and learnings with all teams involved in the policy field across the company as you lead them in the development and implementation of economic impact policy programs.
  • Work closely with key internal teams such as public policy, communications, marketing, and programs to increase knowledge and understanding of the opportunities within the tourism and small and medium business communities.
  • Oversee and assist in the development, maintenance, and deepening of relationships with economic impact stakeholders so as to cultivate expert resources and third party engagement.
  • Develop economic impact programs, events and presentations.
  • Manage the creation of communications, educational, and marketing materials to support the programs.
  • Drive communications and relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including executives.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced environment, think and move quickly, produce results under tight deadlines, juggle many different projects at once, find pragmatic and creative solutions to business issues, provide concise and business-focused advice, and make sound judgments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in policy, marketing, business, communications or a similar subject or discipline.
  • Experience in developing and executing high-profile technology, corporate, NGO, or policy campaign efforts.
  • 8+ years of experience in policy issues.
  • Knowledge of the digital tourism and SMB landscape.

  • Advanced degree in Public Policy or related discipline
