Job summary
Over the past 20 years, Amazon has built one of the most innovative end-to-end online shopping experiences for customers. Amazon is looking for a strategic, results-driven ‘Think Big’ PR professional to share the groundbreaking ways that Amazon’s digital shopping innovations have made customers’ lives easier while touting the company’s forward-looking vision for digital retail.

In this role, you will support the strategy and own the execution of strategic campaigns designed to highlight Amazon’s digital shopping innovations. In this role, you will execute national press campaigns and announcements, drive big stories, design and build partnerships with key third party organizations and advocates, target niche publications to drive awareness within specific industry verticals, and work closely with internal teams on content for Amazon’s social media channels. In addition, you will collaborate closely with global counterparts.

The position can be based in Seattle/Bellevue, WA, Arlington, VA/D.C., New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Austin, TX, Nashville, TN, Boston, MA, or San Francisco Bay Area, CA.

Key job responsibilities
-Support global and national PR campaigns and announcements designed to showcase Amazon’s innovative approach to digital shopping
-Craft narratives from start to finish
-Develop and manage relationships with a range of top-tier media contacts as well as third party organizations and advocates
-Write, develop and manage approvals for news releases, media advisories, fact sheets, and related media materials
-Research and integrate industry news and data, trends and compelling angles into PR programs
-Work cross-functionally across worldwide business, PR, marketing and public policy teams
-Support the mechanisms, processes, and measurement of campaigns and announcements
-Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively
-Willingness to represent Amazon as a spokesperson


-8+ years of communications experience, preferably in retail and/or technology industries
-Ability to travel up to 30 percent of the time to meet with stakeholders, staff events or support opportunities
-Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related discipline


-Experience driving worldwide proactive customer-focused press coverage including launches, press events, and speaking engagements
-Extensive experience in managing third-party announcements and related activities involving partners or customers
-Knows how to dive deep on subject matters to provide creative, thoughtful and comprehensive recommendations for a variety of situations
-A knack for diplomacy and the confidence to engage and build consensus with leaders at all levels
-Pay painstaking attention to important details
-An entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to work autonomously and roll up their sleeves to get the job done
-Combination of in-house and agency PR experience
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
