Job summary
Amazon is seeking a self-motivated communications professional to join our growing North America Sustainability PR team. This individual will support the communication strategy for Amazon’s sustainable transportation programs and path to net-zero carbon as part of its Climate Pledge commitment. Specifically, this person would focus on PR plan execution, media relations, writing press release and media pitches, building and organizing processes and thinking big on how to story-tell in new, creative ways. This person should feel comfortable working with media, collaboratively across teams and have a proven success of supporting campaigns, events and announcements.

This role can be based out of Seattle, WA; Bellevue, WA; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY or Arlington, VA.

Key job responsibilities
Help to create and execute PR strategy and campaigns for positive storytelling in support Amazon’s sustainable transportation.

Develop and leverage relationships with national business, tech, and sustainability focused press to generate accurate and positive coverage.

Manage and support external PR agencies and budgets.

Ability to write press releases, media pitches and documents that could be shared internally or externally.

Can go deep with the details and execute national or hyper-local events that are creative and secure press and social results.


• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience working in Public Relations or communications.


The ability to self-motivate, work autonomously at times and roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

Outstanding attention to detail and bias for action.

Standards so high most people would find them unreasonable.

Thrives in a collaborative environment with experience working on large or global teams.

Strong judgment and ability to make decisions in real-time.

PR athlete who has worked in consumer, transportation or corporate communications.
